Living in England, it’s no surprise that I love a good Royal romance. The Royal We is possibly one of my all-time favourite books, so when I saw this available on NetGalley, it sounded right up my street.

The story follows Princess Theodora Isabella Victoria of Drieden of the Royal House of Laurent, who is back from four months of living in exile after her fiancé jilted her at the altar and embarrassed her in front of the entire nation. Tired of trying to be the perfect Royal, she sneaks out one night and meets a sexy but mysterious Scot at a local pub and is instantly intrigued. Relishing the chance to be a ‘normal’ person for one night, she can’t help but get drawn in by his charm.

I was so happy when I saw I was approved to read an ARC of Jo Watson’s latest book. I only discovered her writing at the beginning of this year, but she has fast became a favourite of mine.

I listened to my first podcast, now I’m hooked!

So this post will be slightly different to my usual posts, but it does have a slight bookish theme.

I have recently joined a book club (see, there is the bookish link) and although I’ve only been to one meeting, I really enjoyed it, and I’m so excited for the next meet up. We meet once a month in the town and we basically spend a couple of hours talking about the current book for that month and any other topics whilst drinking gin. Sounds like heaven, right?

When this book popped up on NetGalley, I knew I had to request it. I read the first one a while back and fell in love with the writing and author.

The story is all about second chances and what will happen if you allow yourself to follow your heart. Ophelia and Kyle have both been hiding a huge secret, and when Kyle comes back to town, they both must decide if what they once had is worth fighting for.

When I saw this book available on NetGalley, I knew I had to read it. If I remember correctly, Begin Again, the first book in the series was the very first book I received on NetGalley and I quite enjoyed it.

This book labels itself as a “hilarious laugh-out-loud” romantic comedy, and I feel I should warn other readers that this description isn’t really fitting. I wouldn’t label this book a comedy, or even particularly a romance. What this book is, is an enjoyable read of a female protagonists journey of self-discovery. I particularly liked the focus on building a career, and relationships between family and friends.

Whenever I go on holiday, it’s tradition for me to buy a few books to take with me to read on the plane. However, for my latest city break to Berlin, I decided to read some of the ARC’s NetGalley had sent me ages ago and I just hadn’t got round to reading. This was one of them!

This book is a super light and easy read about two teens falling in love in Paris. We follow our main character Serena, who is on a mission to visit all of the places her parents did on their honeymoon to make a scrap book for her mother. Ever since her dad died, she has been desperately trying to find a way of connecting with him again, and this is the perfect opportunity. The only problem is, her sister completely forgot about the trip, and now Serena is stuck in Paris, with her sister’s, boyfriends best friend to be her guide. He may be super cute, but Serena has a very tight schedule and doesn’t need a guide to disrupt her plans!

Book tag – would you rather?

Whilst looking through my draft posts, I saw that I had started this book tag, but never posted it! Not really sure why, but looking through my answers, they’re still pretty relevant. I’m also not sure who started this tag, so apologies!

Would you rather have a friend lose your books or one who dog-ears them? 

I think both of these would be my worst nightmare! However, I really hate when I lend people my stuff, whether it be a book or anything else and I never get it back! So I’d have to say I’d rather a friend who dog-ears them….
